just because

So I haven't been here it seems like in forever. I have been pretty busy and the nice weather finally arrived. Except it is going to rain most of this week. I have been making some cards and here are my attempts. I tried to keep this one simple and sweet I feel it is missing something to make it complete. It may just be a little too simple. I think I should have made a border or some how contained it. It looks to me like it is swimming in white. Next time. As I have said before everyday I learn something new.

I usually try something simple. But I have all this extra stuff, papers, stamps and punches so I thought I would go out of my girly sweetness and try a little masculine stuff for fathers day. I have to say I enjoyed it. It also looks more like a finished card then my previous card. So I am and going to try (key word Try). To get more time to make cards. Life is a little hectic. I would love to really just sit back and relax at my craft table but I always get distracted with something else. Then I am rushing. I guess that is just the way things go. I like this card here I made it for my husband for fathers day He like to BBQ. I roughed up the edges to kind of soften the look and to match the crackled background I like this card the most out of the three that I have posted today.

I made my first father's day card for my father in law. I am not sure I may have made him other cards but none geared toward being more masculine. They usually have some flower if outdoor scene. Actually I may have not stretched too far with this card. It is still has a garden theme. Oh....... I try... I try...LOL. I thought I would use different papers and colours on this card. I think I have been trying a little on the safe side. So I hope that I will try to push the envelope on different techniques. I have been enjoying trying new things.
So lets go for it. I have lots of other stuff that I hardly use. So I dare you to pull out some of your old things that you once thought was a good idea. Or once loved to do and see what you can come up with. I am sure going to try it this week. I will be looking forward to it. I would love to see what everyone else is doing out there. Let me know this could be fun to try.

see you soon

wedding

So here's another one I just made while the lil' ones are sleeping.
My friend is having her 2nd Anniversary this month. I heat embossed the Happy Anniversary to match the brushed silver that is behind the bride and groom not bad for Micheal's $1.50 bin. I never thought I would use them but for a $1.50 I wasn't going to complain. I am glad I did. Next time I may heat emboss the hearts I think that would really have made them pop out. I guess you will never know until you try it.
